What
Cardinal is a 1v1 duelling game built in s&box with fast, arena-style movement inspired by Doom and Quake. Players pick up cards throughout the match to gain powerful abilities and powerups, adding a strategic layer on top of the raw mechanical skill.
My Responsibilities
- Card system: designed and implemented a fully dynamic, networked card system. Cards could apply stacking effects to your character or weapon, and add per-round status effects — all data-driven and extensible.
- Movement system: physics-based movement inspired by Doom/Quake — acceleration-dependent bunny hopping that rewards momentum and mechanical skill.
- UI: designed and implemented all in-game user interface.
